The First Temptation: Prosperity
Mat 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit
into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Mat 4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and
forty nights, he afterward hungered.
Mat 4:3 And the tempter came and said unto him,
If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is
written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth
out of the mouth of God.
Ecc 11:1 Cast thy bread upon the waters; for
thou shalt find it after many days.
Isa 55:2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that
which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken
diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight
itself in fatness.
Joh 6:33 For the bread of God is that which
cometh down out of heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
Joh 6:34 They said therefore unto him, Lord,
evermore give us this bread.
Joh 6:35 Jesus said unto them. I am the bread of
life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall
never thirst.
